What are V Spoilers?

V Spoilers work as small airflow-management devices – also known as vortex generators. When fitted correctly to the rear of the car or the roof edge, they manipulate the airflow and minimise the vacuum that would otherwise form behind the car ("drag"). The result is a smoother, more stable drive – especially at motorway speeds and in crosswinds.

Whether you drive a passenger car, electric car, panel van, tractor-trailer, minibus or motorhome, V Spoilers help improve stability and reduce air resistance. They are fitted to the sides or roof of the vehicle and are easily adapted to different body types.

How to fit V Spoilers

V Spoilers are easily fitted to the rear, roof or sides of the car – depending on the car model and the desired effect. Simply clean the surface, remove the backing from the tape and press the spoiler into place. They can easily be removed without leaving marks. Compatible with curved and flat surfaces.

Each spoiler is attached with professional 3M automotive tape, known for its high strength and durability in all weathers. That means you can fit your V Spoilers without tools, without drilling and without damaging the paintwork.

How to fit:

1. Clean the area where the spoiler will be placed – use a degreaser or isopropyl alcohol to ensure good adhesion.
2. Wipe thoroughly and wait until the surface is completely dry.
3. Remove the protective film from the 3M tape on the back of the spoiler.
4. Position the spoiler where you want it (e.g. on the roof, sides or rear of the car)
5. Distance from the rearmost point of the car to the rear tip of the V Spoilers: 10-20 cm, 11 cm from centre to centre.
6. On a car with a "rounded" shape, the spoilers should be placed right up to the edge of the rear window. This is because that is where the laminar air layers begin to separate, and they therefore need to be captured and converted into vortex generators – which minimise drag, suction and turbulence behind a vehicle.
7. Press firmly for 30 seconds with even pressure to activate the tape's full adhesion.

Tip: For the best possible adhesion, fitting should be done at a temperature above 10 °C. At lower temperatures, we recommend gently warming both the tape and the surface with a heat gun or hair dryer.

Removal

If at some point you want to remove your V Spoilers, they can be taken off without leaving marks or damaging the paintwork. Carefully use a plastic spatula and a little heat, and remove any remaining tape with a mild solvent.
